Patience Ellen's birth story.

On July 1st I went to my appointment with the whole family along I normally go by myself as they get quite late. Seth had somethings to do at the church and he had promised me earlier in the week that I could go shopping so he watched the boys at the church.. its a good thing I went shopping. Like I said earlier my apt. can go late and this one did it was around 11:30 when I saw my doctor I didn't see him too long as he had to go deliver a baby. he checked me and I was at a 3 and the head was pretty much right there. was told the he could touch the head. next thing I know we are talking about if we should go home or not since we live an hr away and I go quick. I was feeling really bad because Kyle and Julie were suppose to watch the boys and I had told them that it would be OK for them to go to Dole Valley cause I didn't think I would be having the baby until 6Th when I was going to be induced. At a 11 at night Seth is calling his sister Lisa and asking her to take the boys... so thankful that they didn't go to Dole Valley. Seth brought the boys over there and then came back to the clinic where we spent several hrs visiting with Estella ( doctor wife) being monitored and walking around. Seth took a nap. I couldn't sleep. Doctor came back and checked me again and said its time to the hospital. on the ride there I remember thinking that Seth was driving really slow. Contractions were starting to really pick up . We get to the hospital and at first they were going to just put me in a triage (sp) room until I said that I was told that I was going to be having this baby today. We are now into July 2ND. Get to room put on the lovely gown. I kept on thinking they need to hurry up at get the iv in as I was strep b positive. I was checked at was at 6 and was told a bunch of other info didn't pay attention to it. Anesthesiologist came in and asked me about epidural. I declined was tempting but my last one I got I was at a 5 and a minute or 2 after they got it in Reuben was born. Well my wonderful nurse go the iv in on her second try this is great. and told me that I would have to wait an hr before I could get an epidural this sealed the deal for sure that there would be no epidural. Contractions were getting worse. I started praying things to hurry up and for strength. I had so much pressure but didn't feel the need to push. was check again and still at a 6. I wish I knew the times I asked for something for the pain to at least take the edge off. I got something as was asked if it was helping my reply still recovering from last contraction. For some reason I had about a 3 min break before my next contraction and when the one came I had to push. I think my nursed asked if I had to push or said something not very clear on that though. Note my water still had not broken. the nurse check me and what we will call the controlled panic set in. She had Seth grab the table that was near the door hit the call button for my doctor to come and for other nurses to come. Patience entered this world a not so normal way. she was born in amniotic sac. she was born in a bubble that's how Seth said it. My nurse ended up delivering our first baby girl who was born at 426 am weighing 8lbs 3 oz and 20 in long she spent the whole time in the special nursery due to low blood sugar and was put on antibiotics as a precaution since I did not receive the whole dosage of antibiotic for strep b before she was born... There is more that I prob could add but this will do

Today Zedekiah looks at me and says your gonna have a baby and I said yes I am. Well he starts asking me questions like why'd it get there (meaning how'd it get there) my reply God put baby there. Then he asked what it doing there? I told him its growing Zedekiah says no its not growing potatoes growing. ( we planted our potatoes a while ago and told zedekiah that he can't get them cause they need to grow.) Another Zedekiah moment. " its not letters its vowels and constanents (sp) " Seems like daily he is coming up with something.
Obadiah is my busy giggly little boy who is talking more and more Thanks to big brother. A while back as we were getting ready to leave grandpa and grandma Matson's Grandpa tells Obadiah I like when you come to grandpa's house and Obadiah tells grandpa " I like a come" One day while driving down the road Zedekiah was looking for deer and tells me daddy shoot the deer Obadiah replies shoot the deer then he gets all excited and says yeah shoot the deer. His next line after that made me shake my head and laugh any ways this is what he said " dirty clean up" . Hmm I wonder what was going through his head when he said that.
Reuben is getting be a very busy little boy who like his brothers love being outside and it doesn't matter the weather. He loves to climb and I will often find him on the table . One day I found him sitting in his highchair eating the rest of his food.
Baby # 4 is doing really well as for my well I would have say ok or maybe I should say I am dealing with it.. My sciatic nerve is pinched and the farther along I get the worse its gets at first is was just off and on to now I have very little relief from it. plus all those lovely braxton hicks. those in my opinion are one step beyond just uncomfortable. It is hard and frustrating at times but I just have to deal with it. Seth has been very busy I am thankful.

My Tuesday

Well it is 2 in the morning and for some reason I am awake. Yesterday was quite the day I decided to load up the boys so I could take Reuben to Kania clinic (walk in clinic) cause he has been running a fever for about 4 days. When we pulled in the parking lot Zedekiah told me I stay here I don't want to get out the reason why he was saying that is cause the building across from the clinic is where we brought him for his first dentist appt and that will be a yr ago this summer and we hadn't been back. He has an amazing memory. Back to the clinic after getting there and signing in and learning its and hour half to two hr wait I decided to take the boys and go eat then we went back. finally got called by the nurse and told her what was going on the doc comes in checks Reubens ears and throat and says that he will write a pescription for an antibotic for a possible ear infection one ear had a lot of wax in it I guess so he couldn't even see if there was one or not and the other ear is fine. I was so frustrated I think from now on I will bring them to our family doctor even if its at night. poor Reuben was running a temp of 102.7 and he didn't seem to care. I should back up a little and let you know whats going on with Reuben he is working on getting his first molar, has running a nose and when he falls asleep sound like an old man snoring that runny nose seems to have turned into a sinus infection and he has been fight fevers too.
With all the frustrations of feeling like I didn't get any answers and having to chase 2 boys around the clinic I enjoyed a nice supper with my mother in law and some of my sister in laws great conversations and great food with great people.

from one thought to another and on n on

The other day we gave Zedekiah 2 choices neither of which he liked so after throwing a fit and going to his room I went in to talk to him he informed me thats not fair... what does a 3 almost 4 yr old know about fair. Some of the things he says I really wonder about and sometimes wonder if I heard him right or not. Obadiah isn't too far behind a quite a while back on the way to church he tells us " I don't want church" Today I was changing him and Reuben had picked up his went diaper off the floor (it was wrapped up) I was telling Reuben that its Garbage well I got done and Obadiah gets down and picks up the garbage and hits Reuben and tells him "my garbage" ( thats what it sounded like to me) and then hands me his diaper. Obadiah has started this thing when he tells me something he says it over and over and each time he says he gets closer to my face and pretty soon he is touching me and talking at the same time. He is def my busy one and into everything and looks like Reuben is going down that same road. Note to self when going shopping make sure I know where Obadiah is at all times. he is the one that will go hide in the clothes racks or behind a wall and give his mother a heart attack. Reuben is close to 13 months old and still isn't walking this is late considering Z and O both walked before a year. He is quite content to crawl around or have Zedekiah drag him around.

Ps I know this post is very random and lacks in the grammar department big time all I can say to that is English or grammar in school was not a fav subject and sometimes my thoughts are random.

Journey with baby # 4

I am almost 15 weeks (on monday I will be) and so far the journey has been up and down. For the first several weeks after finding out I had a hard time with allowing myself to connect with baby because I have a pattern of having miscarriages after my other babies and I was so scared that I was going to keep up that pattern since this was the first time I had gotten pg after Reuben. I want this baby but I was letting my fears get the better of me. I was a lot sicker during the first trimester then I was with any of the others but sad to say that still didn't help. Another thing that didn't help was at my first 2 appointments my doctor really couldn't see much they were at 5 and 8 weeks. Finally at almost 11weeks we got to see the little heart beat. at my last appt I got to see a very active baby. on the way home from my last appt I cried chewed myself out and most of all thanked God. I know that I should not worry because God is in control and daily Iam reminded of that and sometime sad to say I still tend to forget or most of the time I want the control out of pure selfishness.
