Simon Raphael

On February 24th around 6:30pm I started having steady contractions.  Seth and I both agreed that when they get to be about 10min apart that we would head out as we had to drop the kids off too.  Around 10:30 pm I told Seth we need to go. My contractions were not 10 min apart yet but the pain  was increasing.  So we loaded up the kids  and dropped them off  at Paul and Lisa's  the whole way there  I  prayed with each contraction that my water wouldn't break.  It was after a 11 when we finally got to the hospital. they first had me in a triage room. where they were going to monitor me but Seth had made a comment about me going quick so the nurse decided to check me first. and I was already 8 cm dilated so they quickly got me in a room. Surprisingly they were able to quickly get an IV in. the on call doctor came in  he was asking me questions but I could answer him as I was having a very strong contraction.  a nurse asked the doctor if he wanted to check me and he said sure as he was getting ready to check me I said I need to push, but it was like they didn't hear me cause the doctor was acting like he was going to just check me. He was quite surprised that the head was right there.  After several pushes our baby was born.  They layed him on my chest and they were rubbing him as he was purple once I knew  baby was going to be fine I was trying to look between the legs as I didn't know if it was a boy or a girl. I finally had to ask and that is when I found we had another boy. Simon Raphael  was born at 11:56pm ,  He was born just 4 min shy of his due date.   He was born with the cord around his neck and he also had a true not in his cord. the doctor said that he is a miracle baby. WE are so thankful to God.  He weighed 7 lbs 3oz and 20 in. long.  They figure that it was only 13 min from the time I walked into the birthing center to him being born. I am so thankful that I was able to do a vbac.  I did not tear which really surprised me as tore with all me other vaginal births. Simon passed his blood sugar test so he was with me to whole time.  he was coombs positive.   Simon is our 5th boy and 7th child.
